What is a head trauma?

head trauma

Injuries to the head can cause a host of common as well as unusual symptoms. Even if you suffered a head trauma years ago you may have residual symptoms. Many patients don’t see a connection between current symptoms and an old injury or trauma.

At California Cranial Institute we have a successful track record of reversing unusual situations. Signs and symptoms of head injuries vary with the type and severity of the injury.

Symptoms can include…

Initial symptoms

  • Loss of consciousness

  • Feeling “dazed”

  • Seizures

  • Neurological deficits

  • Paralysis

  • Difficulty speaking, seeing, or hearing

  • Difficulty walking: uneven gate or toe drop

  • Cognitive deficits

Delayed symptoms

  • Headaches

  • Short term memory problems

  • Changes in development (children)

  • Visual processing issues

  • Auditory processing issues

  • Optical dysfunction

  • Neurological deficits

How do we treat head trauma?

Treatment at the California Cranial Institute focuses on reversing the conditions that are causing pain and dysfunction. The first objective is to get compression off the brain. When the brain is compressed there are changes in blood and cerebral spinal fluid circulation. This vascular dysfunction can cause significant problems.

Circulation patterns are restored using cranial therapy. Processing issues are addressed using brain exercises to restore proper functions of the visual and auditory systems.
